Commodore 128 Troubleshooting and repair book
« on: July 17, 2012, 08:19 PM »
I'm sure I found this book scanned online a couple of months ago, but I can't remember whether it was linked from somewhere or I just found it.

It's not ray carlsens stuff and it's not commodore's documentation for their cartridge, but it had a step by step diagnosis using oscilloscopes etc.

It's really bugging me now because I didn't have time to go through it at the time, but now I have time I can't find it.

It sounds like it might be one of Sam's Books.  They often have diagrams, flow charts, diagnostic procedures, etc.  I'm sure I've seen some over at Bombjack, but who knows if any are what you remember!

Yes, it might be the sams computer facts book.

A very meaningful description.

While it doesn't have the specific book you're after there're also C128 books here - http://www.bombjack.org/commodore/books-commodore128.htm

I have two books on repairing the 128.

One is called “Troubleshooting and Repairing Your Commodore 128”
Author is Art Margolis
Publisher is TAB BOOKS Inc.
Soft bound, 435 pages

Second is called “Commodore 128 Troubleshooting & Repair”
Author is John Heilborn
Publisher is Howard W. Sams & Company
Soft bound, 138 pages

I would be happy to loan them to anyone that has the time
and scanning equipment to make copies for any one that
wants a copy.

Well, I didn't get any volunteers, so I scanned them myself.
You can find them on Bombjack.org.
