Hi!

I'm owner of C128DCR with SuperCPU128 awaiting SuperRAM daughtercard, ready to add 16MB SIMM.

I'm new owner of SID Symphony II (not from CMD - it's DAC product).

I tried to connect SID Symphony to C128 and when I turn on computer, system start&boot is not succesfull... nothing active. Only diskdrives tests passed.

When I give out SID Symphony, computer starts properly...

I tried to disable SCPU, disable JiffyDOS, disable Turbo mode, disable RAMlink, insert SID Symphony into RL PASS-THRU port, into X-Pander3... never succesfull.

It is maybe total SCPU not compatible or is it only problem with SuperRAM card?

In few days I'll have SuperRAM card with 16MB FPM SIMM and will see...

But is it possible to solve it really? Or SID Symhony II from DAC will never work with SCPU?

My computer has SID8580R5 and SID Symphony has inserted SID6581, don't know revision...

Many many thanks for every help, reply or comments...

Sounds like they're either competing for their load address or IO line.  I know the SID card allows you to choose different addresses, have you tried that?

Hi!

Yes, I think the same - address using collision...

But I don't have experience with using two SIDs, so I never solved this problem...

I know that it's possible to change addresses, but problem is that it must to be with hardware solution... here I am not good...

Software solution is not possible - at turning on computer must be address set to not occupied location...

If you can help, please let me know, and, thank you for help...

Cheers,

Hi!

Now I feel stupid...

I forgot on jumpers in case... so, I opened case and set address to $DE00 and it's working correctly...

Oh, my stupid head....

Hi!

I found new problem...

SID Symphony II is RAMLink not compatible... I tried every jumpers, also X-PAnder3 jumpers, nothing helps...

When is SID Symphony active, must be RAMLink disabled... collision of what? Really don't know.

When I enable SID SYmphony, II used Hydrophilic test and that it works correctly was found that SID Symphony II was not active...

Now, I can select two modes: RAMLink & parallel CMD-HD / SID Symphony II...

Well in addition to the address, there are also two IO lines which I've seen cause problems.  Its possible that there's a conflict there too.

Hi!

I have connected SID Symphony II into X-PAnder3 and last port uses RAMLink.

I have configured jumpers on X-Pander3 so, that they have different IO lines... but really don't help this.

I set up address of 2nd SID at $DE00.
