Wanted - DOS disk for PC 20-III
« on: January 06, 2011, 06:10 AM »
Does anyone have the Commodore branded DOS (MS DOS 3.21 or 3.31) for the PC 20 ? In particular I need the three utilities supplied with the OS for the clock, speed adjustment and hard drive parking utility.

I think the same software was available for other CBM PC's as well.

Hallo Blacklord,

Maybe a bit late.....

I don't have the disk and it isn't needed either. Ctrl-Alt-Esc starts the computers own setup menu. Here you can set the date/time and the frequency to start up with. During the normal use of the PC you can change the speed to 9.54 MHz with Ctrl-Alt-D, to 4.77 MHz with Ctrl-Alt-S and to 7.15 MHz with Ctrl-Alt-T.

And I have a park utility, if still interested :)

Thanks Ruud - I managed to track the set (went through several boxes of old DOS software I have had since way back when).

Wasn't aware this one has a BIOS setup - will try it out, but that's unusual for an XT class machine.

cheers,

Lance

In that case I would be interested in an image of the disk with these utilities. Many thanks in advance!

I wasn't either, until I disassembled the BIOS.

Hi Ruud,

Right now I'm in Sydney and the machine is at home in Melbourne - I'll be back down there towards the end of this month so will image the disks then for you.

cheers,

Lance

Hallo Lance,

I only just found out that one can use an Amiga mouse for these PCs. But that means one need a driver as well. Could you have a look if there is one on these disks as well?
Many thanks!
