GEOS master key ID
« on: December 09, 2007, 02:26 PM »
Mystik and I were talking via email about the master key ID issue where major apps like GeoFile must be keyed to the original boot disk used to run GEOS.  What I found was a program called GetID and NewID which changes the ID in memory to whatever you want.  Its not perfect as its only an in-memory change, but it does work.  Ive read elsewhere that the copy protection software "Maverick" also will let you fix this issue as well.

With the advent of the GEOS kernal source code being reverse engineered, maybe Ill see if I can hack this completely out of the kernal altogether. The source that I have was generated from 64's version, so it probably wont help too much with the 128 version of GEOS.  But if nothing else, it might could be an interesting project.
